Gru is fired from the Anti-Villain League when 80s-inspired Super Villain Balthazar Bratt steal a priceless diamond, and he takes the blame. But when an elderly gentlemen shows up at his door to inform Gru that he has a long-lost twin brother, who is desperate to become a villain and lead Gru back to his old ways, it starts a new adventure when he must choose which side he is on.

So, how does the movie end??
Led by Minion Mel, the Minions break into a film studio, and gatecrash an American Idol type show - which lands them all in jail. Seems a little harsh. But Mel soon misses Gru, and they gang together to break out in a Blimp they've made from spare parts.
Dru shows Gru his lair of evil equipment, and wins him over - although really Gru just wants to recapture the diamond, and get his job back.
Gru and Dru go to work, but Dru is a liability. They manage to grab the diamond and escape, but almost fall onto the poisonous spike outside until they are rescued by Lucy. Lucy says she will return the diamond and the girls safely - but it's all a ploy and she's really Balthazar Bratt in disguise.
Bratt uses the diamond as the center-piece of his huge robot, and starts to destroy Hollywood with lasers and bubblegum. Dru manages to destroy the robot, and Gru challenges Bratt to a dance-fight - which he wins with a bit of Money for Nothing on the keyboard.
Bratt is trapped in his own bubblegum, and taken by the Anti Villain League.
Later one night, Dru leads the Minions as their new evil master. Gru and Lucy are ready to stop him - but decide to give him a 5 minute head start first.
