Plot:

Claire Kubik is a high-price lawyer whose life is turned upside-down when she is arrested one night with her husband in an FBI raid, and quickly learns that her husband has lied to her all these years and is wanted by the Military Police for war crimes. Believing that he has been framed, she must use all her experience to save her husband from the Death penalty.

So, how does it end?

The court case isn't going so well, but Claire is learning the ropes with the help of Grimes.  The prosecution offer a deal, where Kubik/Chapman must do 5 years.  He refuses, thinking that they'll get to him, and he doesn't want to do a day longer than necessary for something he didn't do.

Hernandez's friends start to intimidate Claire and the defence team.  Grimes is badly beaten outside the bar when he finds Lt Embry having a drink with the enemy.  Later Claire and Grimes are ran off the road and crash into a ditch.  Claire wakes up in hospital, and is told that she has lost the baby she didn't even know she had.

Claire summons up her courage to fight back, and listens to Grimes' advice to bend the rules. She digs around to find out what really happened -- that a satchel thrown into a cafe at El Salvador actually wiped out the terrorist leader, as well as civilians. To cover it up, the Special Forces were sent in to a village with instructions to wipe them out and the bombing was blamed on the terrorist group.

Claire meets the General at a function, and blackmails him that she'll expose the cover-up unless her husband walks.

Soon enough, they're back in the courtroom and have word that the charges have been dropped at Tom is free to go home.

They avoid the press, and get away for a few days.

Suddenly, something Tom does catches her attention -- he juggles his keys in both hands. She checks his Outlook calendar (obviously they don't change computers too often), and realises that he was away when the murders of his colleagues took place. Tom re-enters the room as he could tell she was getting suspicious -- and owns up that he killed the villagers all along. But just because he was following orders.

She runs away but he chases her and wrestles with her in the garden house. Just as he is about to kill her, the surviving villager/ stalker shows up, beats him up, and Tom is shot dead. The stalker disappears.

A little while later, Claire drives past a typical San Francisco old office-apartment, with "Grimes and Associates" on the wall. She enters, and makes herself at home. Finally Grimes has an Associate who isn't his trusty, furry friend.
