The thieves keep demanding that Kyle open the safe. He refuses. The leader of the gang, Elias, gives him a story that the money is to pay for a kidney transplant for his dying mother - and if he can't have the money, he'll need to take one of Kyle's kidneys instead. Kyle is thrown onto a table and out comes a knife ... but Kyle calls his bluff.
Next, Sarah strikes a deal - if they let little Avery go they promise to open the safe. The bouncer-looking thief, Ty, gives Avery his jacket and she's off. Kyle opens the safe ... and it's empty. He claims they are broke - with all the money tied up in the house.
Ty hauls Avery back who didn't get very far. The thieves are looking for a way out when they spy a portrait with Sarah wearing a nice diamond necklace ... but it turns out to be fake.
About this time we see another version of flashbacks from before involving Sarah and the better-natured robber Jonah -- this time from the perspective of Sarah (or the true event, it's not clear) and it seems to be that the CCTV footage had it all wrong and Jonah was being inappropriate. We soon find out he has a personality disorder, so it's probably safe to trust Sarah's side of events.
Avery makes a fuss again and Kyle escapes from his duct tape and hurls a stool through a window, setting off the alarm. Ty and Kyle fight - and Kyle finally becomes a man. He wrestles with the bigger man and turns the syringe onto the bad guy, rendering him unconscious.
The bad guys get Kyle under control again and we hear the story of their motive - that Elias had a loan from a drug-dealer of $180,000 that was stolen. About this time Kyle is shot in the leg.
A neighborhood watch type man calls round to check up with Elias pretending to by Kyle - but spies the blood. Jonah then shoots the guard in the head.
Avery next has an idea to get rid of the bad guys. She'll lead them to the rich party where cash will jsut be lying around. She drives the creepy and drugged-up Petal, but can't take much more of her threats and crashes the Porsche. She stumbles back to the house a little hurt. Petal didn't do too well.
Ty wakes up and stops Jonah taking Sarah away. They fight, until Elias shoots him. As he is dying he tells Elias the real story - that his boss stole back the money, and Elias was set up by his brother for just $10,000. Kyle and Sarah have slipped away.
The bad guys catch them in the back room undergoing some major construction work. Avery also shows up. They all fight once more and Jonah turns the gun on his brother. Kyle is dying from a loss of blood. The wooden wall falls away to reveal stashes of cash. Kyle uses the nail gun to stick Jonah's foot to the ground, and ignites some oil that has spilt. Jonah grabs Sarah, but Kyle picks up a gun and shoots him. Jonah falls backwards into the flames that have engulfed all the cash.
Kyle, Sarah and Avery make it outside as the fire crews show up.
