Joe hits the TV circuit to fight the good fight, without any help or support from Valerie who prefers to stick her head in the ground and hope for the best. She's confronted by the sister of the nuclear scientist who hasn't heard from her brother - Valerie can't help her, and that's it, she disappears without much of a fight. She soon finds out that they've all been killed and apparently THEY were the weapons of mass destruction.
Valerie's bosses disown her, but also want her to keep a tight reign on Joe, which she can't do. The constant death threats and instant lack of friends puts a considerable strain on their marriage and they live apart (but Joe gets the big house).
While at her parent's home, she has a chat to her dad in the garden (I fast-forwarded this bit, it's about 10 minutes long - hey I did well to last this long), so I'm guessing he tells her to go back to Joe and sort it out. She goes home -- and FINALLY tells him she's going to fight it out and help him.
Joe hits the Uni circuit and gives guest lectures to students about politics and power. Scooter (Skipper??? The bad guy anyway) is somehow found out as the person that leaked her name. Doesn't tell you how - and would probably be a better storyline. He is arrested and given a prison sentence and hefty fine - but we're told in the credits that Bush absolves him of any blame and he is released.
Valerie and Joe move home but are still together.
In the final credits we finally see the real Valerie Plame at the congressional hearing, and she actually does look a lot like Naomi Watts. She says her name and that she is about to give her her story ... and then it cuts to black. Or I fell asleep at this point. It's all a bit of a blur.
