Peter Highman (RDJ) must fly home to LA, from a business trip in Atlanta, to be at his wife's side for the birth of their baby. Trouble starts at the airport when he first bumps into Ethan Tremblay (Zach Galifianakis), a wannabe actor and huge "Two and a half men" fan, also travelling to LA for auditions.  When Ethan is upgraded to 1st class and they exchange harsh words, both are ordered off the plane and Peter is placed on the "no fly" list.  Without his wallet, and any ID or money, he is forced to accept an offer from Ethan to share his rental and travel across country to make it to LA in 5 days -- Will they make it to the hospital on time?

So, how does it end?

While on the Texas leg of the roadtrip, this time in Peter's friend Darryl's pick-up after the crash, Ethan decides to smoke his weed with the windows shut - getting them all high.

They decide to drive over the border to Mexico, but are soon stopped. Ethan escapes while Peter is detained.  Then, in a daring rescue, Ethan steals the Federale truck and rescues Peter. They make a break for it, and continue their journey.

Now better friends, Ethan stops at the Grand Canyon to give a ceremony for the ashes of Ethan's father.  Ethan is reluctant to let him go.  Peter owns up to his actions earlier in that he tried to leave Ethan behind.  Ethan forgives him - because he has held onto Peter's wallet all along.  They fight, Peter is a little angry.

But, they work it out and hit the road again to get to the hospital.

They arrive just in time for the birth in the beat-up Fed truck. Peter collapses, so Ethan cuts the umbilical cord. The baby wasn't Darryl's. When he wakes up, they say their goodbyes, and Ethan heads off for Hollywood.

A little while later, at home with his family, Peter turns on the TV -- to find that Ethan is living the dream and is now a regular on his favourite show - 'Two and a Half Men'.

Getting a bit sick of Todd Phillips making a cameo appearance in his movies now - just seems a little desperate.  More M.Night than Alfred Hitchcock.  Give over it dude, we all know what you look like now.
