Rogue is captured by Magneto and tied up inside the flame of the Statue of the Liberty. The X-Men get inside the company spaceship and break into the tourist attraction. Storm gets rids of Toad with one of the worst lines of dialogue I've ever heard in a movie - "Do you know what happens to toads when they are struck by lightning? ... The same thing that happens to everything else." Zap, he's struck by lightning.
Wolverine stabs Mystique (disguised as Storm) through the heart, and then Magneto shows up and ties them up in metal fittings. Wolverine stabs himself to break his bonds, fights with Sabretooth a little - dealing him a few deadly blows but it's basically a kids movie, with sequels, so he's fine and falls off the statue to land conveniently on a docked ship.
Magneto gives his power to Rogue and the sphere device is cranked up. The X-Men reunite. Storm sends Wolverine over the sphere and Jean Grey holds him in place. Magneto starts to play with his claws, so cyclops knocks him out with his laser, and Logan destroys the machine.
Rogue hasn't done so well, and has a new hairstyle. Wolverine touches her skin to give her his healing powers, and she starts to breathe again.
The cops finally show up, and find a guard with stab wounds in his heart that they take to safety.
Meanwhile back in the mansion Logan is making a full recovery. On TV Mystique is playing a senator saying that the new laws about mutants are being left for now. Logan leaves to find out about where he came from, and steals Scott's bike again. Charles meets for a chess challenge with Magneto, locked in a plastic prison - and wins.
