Plot:

Ty Hackett is an Afghan veteran who has returned home to care for his little brother since their parents' untimely death, leaving them with huge hospital bills and the risk of losing their family home. Recruited by friends to join the team of Eagle Shield security, he is approached by Mike (Matt Dillon) with the offer to change their fortunes - and steal the $42million they will soon be transporting in armored trucks.

So, how does it end?

When they kill the Hobo who witnessed them stashing the cash, Ty has second thoughts and makes a run for it in one of the trucks. Mike gets into the other one, and luckily leads him back in a big circle to where they started - and pins Ty's truck into place against a wall.

Ty won't get out, and sounds the siren. This is heard miles away by Milo the cop, who investigates the old deserted factory rather than enjoy his lunch break. Mike somehow convinces him with the old "you can check it out - but there's a dead dog inside, and big rats" chestnut which works. Until Ty connects the siren again - Milo turns around and crazy Baines (Laurence Fishburne) shoots him with the shotgun.

They drag the body inside and argue, allowing Ty to run out the back of the van - and rather than take Milo to his squad car and escape, drags him back into the security van - prison.

Dobbs (a very old looking Skeet Ulrich) is not happy and tries to help Ty, as the others go to work taking out the hinges to the back doors. The team catch Dobbs handing Ty a battery switch, and Palmer (the dude from Prison Break) takes him aside and stabs him in the chest. Dobbs is dead instantly - obviously it seems a better trick than being shot in the chest by a shotgun, which just seems to hurt a little.

Ty sticks bank notes to the van's windows to block out their plan - and then escapes through the floor and up to the roof to get a better radio signal. He calls the cops - but Palmer has followed him. It's all too much for Palmer, who steps off the roof to his death. Ty gets back to the van through the floorboards. If only the other guys checked under the van, would save everyone a lot of bother.

Meanwhile, Quinn (Jean Reno) has returned with Jimmy, Ty's little brother.

Using what he has available, Ty makes a bomb and plants it in the metal safe. He then opens the doors and the two are dragged out the back.

The bad guys open the safe - and then the explosion blows them across the factory. Quinn is burned alive, Baines doesn't do much better, and Mike is a little charred.

Ty goes to get help in the cop car, but can't start it in time and Mike, in the security van, rams into it. Ty then somehow outruns the security van, but manages to dive for cover as mad Mike drives it into a ditch - and dies from his injuries.

At the hospital, Ty watches as Milo tells the cops what happened. The Eagle Shield boss sort-of congratulates him, and says there'll be a reward for destroying the best part of $42millon.

Comments

It starts off with two of the oldest cliches around - Mike won't let Ty into the car by driving away just as Ty approaches. Chortle chortle.  And then it's all news to Baines that having a big gun means you are compensating for something. Really? Never heard that one before either. Definitely worthy to be in a 2009 movie.  The plot doesn't really pick up from there.
