Plot:

A streetwise kid, Marty McFly (Michael J.Fox), is accidentally sent back to 1955 in a Delorean time machine with the help of a crazy scientist 'Doc' Emmett Brown (Christopher Lloyd), where he must first find his old friend to fix the time machine and generate the 1.21 gigawatts needed to power the flux capacitor and send him back home.  The problem is that he has already disrupted the space-time continuum when he stopped his parents meeting - and now that his mom has fallen in love with him, is in danger of erasing himself from existence!  Can he get his parents to fall in love and kiss at the Enchantment Under the Sea dance before it's too late?

So, how does it end?

Do we really need to do this??  I mean, who in the world hasn't seen Back to the Future?!  There are Bushmen in Papua New Guinea who tell their kids stories of Marty McFly.

Ok, for anyone who hasn't served 25 years on a space station, or been to Papua New Guinea on holiday recently, it goes a little like this:

Marty stopped his parents meeting and Doc has realised that he is in danger of wiping himself from existence - as seen in the family photograph with his older brother and sister slowly disappearing.

Everything Marty tries to get them together, only makes his mother Lorraine fall for him even more.  It's quite creepy when you think about it!  When George gives up, Marty dresses up in the radioactive suit and breaks into George's house, puts some Van Halen on a Walkman and tells George that he is Darth Vader from the planet Vulcan who will melt his brain unless he asks Lorraine to the High School dance .. which, as we all know, is the place where they kiss for the first time and fall in love.

Meanwhile Doc has developed an idea to generate the 1.21 gWs using a lightning bolt when the clock tower is struck, and shows Marty on a scale model.  Lorraine calls round and asks Marty to the dance, and he agrees to go.

Marty hatches a plan - that George will knock him out and win Lorraine's affection.  He also writes a note to warn the Doc about the Libyans in the future.

At the Enchantment Under the Sea dance, Marty parks outside but is surprised by how wild his mom really is.  They kiss and she slows down, realising something is wrong.  Biff opens the door and beats up Marty, and then gets into the car to have his wicked way with Lorraine.  His gang dump Marty in the trunk of the band's car and then run away.  The guitarist damages his hand trying to open the lock, and Marty races over to catch George laying out Biff with a huge punch.

The band can't play without the guitarist, so Marty steps up watching his parents dance in the hall.  Disappearing from existence, he is struggling until George pushes away a Ginger kid who cut in, takes Lorraine and kisses her.  Everything is back to normal again - Marty is on his feet and the family photo shows his brother and sister smiling and waving.

Marvin Berry asks Marty to play a song, and Marty finally gets to live his dream of performing as he belts out 'Johnny Be Goode'.  He goes a little wild at the end, but before that they all loved it.  He says goodbye to his parents and then races off to get into the Delorean.  Without time to tell Doc, who doesn't want to listen and has ripped up the note, he sets the clock back a little to give him time to stop Doc's murder.

He revs the engine, gets it up to 88mph, and as the lightning bolt strikes is sent back to the future.

The engine runs out of gas, so he races over to the Twin Pine mall but not in time - Doc is gunned down, but at least the Libyans seem to die in an explosion.  He falls to his knees next to Doc, but then Doc sits upright and shows his little friend that he was wearing a bullet proof vest.  Doc drops Marty off home, and then says he's going to visit the future.

Next morning Marty's life is changed upside down - Dave wears a suit for the office, the sister is suddenly popular with boys and his parents are deeply in love and looking healthy.  Biff didn't wreck Marty's car, and instead is polishing it and brings in the first run of George's novel, who has the new life motto (from an old friend) "if you put your mind to it, you can accomplish anything".

Marty wakes up Jennifer and they are both startled when Doc makes an appearance from the future and needs their help - as their kids are out of control.  They get into car, which now runs on biofuel, and they don't need a lot of road to get up to 88 as it can fly.  They turn around and speed to the camera, sending them to the future...
