Tag-line Some Thing Has Found Us.

On a typical New York day, a surprise leaving party is thrown for Rob, a young exec, who is about to take a new job in Japan - when suddenly the lights flicker, the building shakes and outside the decapitated head of the Statue of Liberty bounces down the street. Sounds like another Saturday night to me.

So, how does it end?

After they escape the subway and exit through Bloomingdales with the help of the army, Marlena bows out big-style when she suddenly starts to feel unwell. She is dragged away behind a screen but then explodes everywhere, caused by a reaction to the parasites.
The group pull themselves together and head out to rescue Beth, but must leave the island by 6am sharp.
Finally making their way to the Time Warner Center, one of the towers has fallen against the other - but that doesn't stop them. They climb the standing tower, cross over onto the roof of the Pisa tower, then make their way down to Beth's apartment. At first they think she's dead, she's been injured badly, but she's fine really.

They make it back out, hacking a few more parasites on the way, and get to the evacuation point. They are split up and Lily is taken on a different helicopter to Rob, Hud and Beth.
As they are flying away from the city, we see the monster being carpet-bombed into submission. But, just like in the Hulk movies, the director and writers can't agree on his size and the 100ft (but still average looking) monster somehow manages to stretch out a hand and damage Rob's chopper far away in the distance.
They crash land in Central Park, and it's suddenly quite light in the day at this point. Hud goes to retrieve the camera, and as he looks up the Turtle-Godzilla monster is now resembling an alien with a balloon-brain. He munches on poor Hud and then walks away.
Rob and Beth run to retrieve the camera, pay their condolences, and then run to hide under a bridge as bombs fall all around them. Soon buried under rubble, they say their "I love you"s before a final bomb brings an end to a terrible day for poor Rob.

The final pre-recorded camera scene finishes Rob and Beth's day at the Coney Island funfair ... and then at the end of the 'transmission' we're told -- oh yes -- it's still alive.
