A team of world-leading scientists have recreated dinosaur embryos by extracting DNA from prehistoric mosquitoes encased in amber, and populated an island with adult specimens to function as the world's greatest themepark ever known. The owner, John Hammond (Attenborough) has assembled a team as the first guests to visit the park - from leading palaeontologists (Sam Neill and Laura Dern), to lawyers and mathematicians (Jeff Goldblum), hoping for their support.
Although the park's facilities are world-class, the main attractions are shy or unwell and not aiding the experience. While on their way around the course on the car-monorail, the timing couldn't be worse when the park's security is suddenly sabotaged by a worker, and the giant electric fences holding the mightiest dinosaurs are not as safe as first planned!

So, how does the movie end??
The guy from Third Rock from the Sun has sabotaged the site's security network as he makes off with dinosaur embryos to sell to the park's main competitor. The monorail cars have broken down, leaving the tour members stranded, as the storm approaches.
A T-Rex has broken free of its enclosure, and now is not feeling so shy. It crushes two of the cars and eats the lawyer guy, who is sat on a toilet. Dr Alan Grant hotwires the electric car and drives off in a hurry with the kids, chased by the predator. Jeff Goldblum was left behind, but picked up by the ranger guy , and the sabateur soon meets a grisly end with a venom spitting (but flirty!) dinosaur.
Samuel L Jackson has trouble getting past the sabateur's system virus, so decides to reset everything - and this sets the vicious raptors free. According to proper history they were little bigger than chickens, but as this is a Spilberg/Lucas movie, they are mini T-Rex's. Muldoon the park ranger tries to poach one of the grazing Raptors, but soon meets his end. ""Clever girl"" as he says. Grant's girlfriend makes it to the underground power room, where she meets up with Samuel L Jackson's arm. But she manages to restore the power.
Grant and the kids have a run-in with an electric fence, which fries poor little Timmy, but they all make it back to the main complex in one piece. The kids go to get some food, and are trapped by the Raptors in the huge kitchen - the clever little dinosaurs can open doors. Grant tries to help them, and the dinosaurs skid around a lot on the tiles. The security finally gets back online, and the doors are safely locked out of a control room, where the good guys call for help.
Trying to get out the building, they meet up with the persistent raptors in the main hall, but just as they are about to meet their maker, the T-Rex makes his entrance and picks a fight with the little ones.
Grant and his team don't hang around, and manage to hitch a ride off the island by helicopter with the old guy and the injured Jeff Goldblum. They decide not to endorse the park, but at least Dr Sam is happy when he sees a flock of birds.
And the T-Rex won the fight, but next time should really pick on someone his own size.
