So, how does the movie end??

Joe pieces together what his older alter-ego is up to, and goes to the third address on the map. Without his drugs he goes cold turkey, but the owner of the farm where he ends up takes care of him. He shows her the numbers on the map - and she pulls out her gun again -- the code is the birthday of her son, and the hospital ID.

Meanwhile, old Joe goes to find the first boy, and off-screen shoots him. He is captured on camera staking out the second hit, and the Loopers move in. He is brought in to the HQ, but is too strong for the henchmen and fights his way free. He shoots most of the Gat Men dead, then hurls a grenade towards a second group that were lying in wait to trap him.

Old Abe from the future and his bodyguards don't do so well either.

Back at the farm, a Looper agent shows up, looking for Joe. Sara manages to send him packing, but soon enough he's back. Her son, Cid, walks down the stairs to check on his mom, when he trips and falls. Sara grabs Joe and hurls him outside. The little boy fills with rage, then uses his super-powered TK to lift all the objects in the room, including the agent, before he rips him open.

Old Joe gets into a truck and races over to the third address, now he knows that the boy is the Rainmaker - stealing new memories from his other self.

Young Joe grabs a gun and chases after Cid, but is filled with pity when he finds him, alone, and covered with blood.

Old Joe shows up in the truck. He tells Joe that he is safe and has killed the other loopers -- now he just has to kill the boy. Old Joe starts blasting away as Sara and Cid run towards the crop field. The boy is caught with a graze, and after growing angry, his mother calms him down. Joe takes aim - but Sara stands in the way.

Young Joe has a flash-forward where he senses the anger the boy will have, and the danger he poses. So he stands up, takes the old gun, and shoots himself.  Old Joe vanishes, while the younger self dies. Cid runs to be with his mother. They go to Joe's truck, to find that it's been loaded with gold bars.

And everyone is left to hope that a lot of money will mean the young boy won't grow up to be the Rainmaker and reign destruction for all mankind!

Our Comments:

Seems a pretty big goof that we see Willis knock out his younger self after he returns in the re-run flashback, and then leave him and run off --- when we already know that Joe wakes up to find a piece of paper stuck to his belt with a message telling him to get on a train.  When did Willis write that??  And where did he find the marker pen??!
