The little dog is run over by a truck. Michael says it's not his job to bring the little guy back to life, but Frank challenges his claim to be an angel. Michael picks up the dog, walks out into the field - and his wings stretch out. The dog is revived, but Michael has lost more feathers.

They get back in the car, and the angel is not feeling so good. They power on through to Chicago and almost reach the office tower when Michael collapses and gives out. He vanishes before them in a cloud of feathers.

The three reporters make it up to Bob Hoskins office, and tell him that it was all a hoax - so he wins the bet, and can keep the dog. The dog doesn't want to stay. Frank quits, and leaves Dorothy - fearing that she would just leave him anyway.

A little while later, he thinks that he spies Michael walking down the street at night. He chases after him, down an alley and around a corner -- only to bump into Dorothy. It seems she also thought she was chasing Michael. Immediately Frank asks her to marry him. She says no.

Frank asks a few more times, and finally Dorothy says yes.

Michael appears with the old lady that died before, proud of his achievement - and tells the old woman that he first invented the marriage ceremony. They dance in the street and then turn white, before becoming stars in the sky.
