Tamara Drewe (Gemma Arterton) returns to the Dorset village that shunned her many years ago, as a semi-successful writer with a new nose job. The men in the village cannot take their eyes off her, and she causes carnage in the lives of each one!

So, how does the movie end??

To be fair, stick with it for one of the most weirdest 'movie death scenes' you'll ever see at the end! ...

The annoying little kid Jody sends an email from Tamara's account to Andy, Ben and old Nicholas with a sexy proposition.  Ben Sergeant, the famous drummer, doesn't see the funny side and leaves Tamara to return to his pregnant ex-fiancee.

Tamara is back in the village, and goes to see Andy - but is too late and he seems to be back together with the bar maid again.  For some crazy reason, which ruins the whole movie, the creepy, adulterous, middle-aged writer Nicholas calls by her house on the off-chance and invites himself in.  She somehow falls for his charms within seconds, and they start an affair.  It'll make you feel sick.

He lies to his wife about going on business trips - but they are caught first by Andy, who sees his scarf in her home, and then the two girls.  The girls take a picture of them both together on their mobile -- and then when Nicholas soaks one of them by driving through a huge puddle at speed as she waits by the side of the road, she sends the picture to his wife, Beth.

The wife is understandably distraught. She follows him to a literary festival, and as he takes questions from the front (where he announces his plans to change his lfe and kill off his popular literary crime fighting character), she asks why he cheats on his wife.  Nicholas chases Tamara out the tent - but Tamara calls it off.

Meanwhile, Ben has found out that the baby wasn't his and responds to an email from Jody to return to the village. She is meant to look after his dog, but it escapes.

Back in the family home, Beth has a sneaky kiss with the American writer. Nicholas walks in, and they try to clear the air but it's all over.

Suddenly realising that he 'didn't know what he had until it was goneNULL, he confronts the American writer in a field. There's a bit of pushing and shoving. Nicholas falls and hits his head on a water trough.

Ben's dog goes crazy, chasing the cows in the fields, which panic and stampede .... and run over the body of Nicholas!  That's a new one!! Death by stampeding, slow moving Dorset cows. The American writer hides in the bushes.

Andy is about to shoot the dog - but the owner of the cows beats him to it.  Beth runs to the body of her husband.  Tamara is there first.  Beth is inconsolable - and punches Tamara, breaking her nose.

Andy convinces the American writer to stay ...

And then, unbelievably, a little while later Andy gets together with Tamara, with her nose patched up.  After her very recent fling with Nicholas, he really could have done better.

GiggirlNY - "Worst film ever. Completely ridiculous plot of Tamara with Nicholas. I dispise when films pander to straight, ugly, beyond middle aged men's fantasies of the hot girl wanting them to have sex with them. The whole film is like a porn film with no complete nudity. Shame on Stephen Frears for directing this garbage. He is better than this and must have desperately needed the money."
