Best friend Lisa finally realises that the guy with the baseball hat is the killer. She tries to take the lift to warn her friend, gets impatient, so takes the stairs. As luck would have it, the killer is waiting - but he doesn't have to do much as she trips on her high heels and almost breaks her neck.
Next its the classic 'woman running as fast as she can as the killer calmly follows' type scene. They end up on a floor undergoing construction. She gets scared by some birds, screams a bit, and runs backwards towards the killer who slits her throat.
The cops finally find the maid's body in the bad guy's suite and decide to warn Donna by pressing the fire alarm. Ronnie and Lisa were about to be crowned prom king and queen.
Donna decides to go back to the suite to pick up a scarf. She finally meets the killer. She hides, he breaks down a door. She hides under the bed, again, and then runs into the arms of the detective.
He enters the suite to find the murderer, but he's long gone, somehow. Donna is taken away by the cops. SWAT arrive to start a sweep of the hotel. In the room they find the body of a porter in an air vent, and assume he must have left dressed in his clothes.
They warn the detective outside Donna's house. It's too late - the main detective arrives to find his partner murdered, while Donna realises her boyfriend is not asleep but dead. She tries to hide, when it's pretty obvious the killer knows she's in the bedroom. She goes into the cupboard - but the prowler is the detective. The killer grabs her in the cupboard. The detective responds to screams from the Auntie and leaves the room.
Donna bites his finger to escape, the Detective shoots the bad guy in the chest a few times.
He falls down dead.
