When worker ant Z (Woody Allen) bumps into the Princess at an ant bar after work, he falls in love and switches positions with his soldier buddy Weaver (Stallone) so he has an opportunity to meet her again. It's a great plan, except General Mandible (Hackman) has called for a suicidal attack on a gang of termites - and after a brave battle Z is the only survivor, and a war hero back at the colony. Will the Princess fall for him? Will he ever find Insectopia? Or will he end up kidnapping her in a botched attempt to show his love??

So, how does the movie end??
Z returns to the colony and tries to stop the digging, but the foreman slams an axe into the wall, and water sprays out.
Meanwhile, the Princess has joined the Queen as she delivers a speech, and warned her about General Mandible's plans.
With the water rising, the ants form a tower to reach the top of the the colony, that has been sealed by the General. The tower is supported on Weaver's shoulders, who is soon underwater.
The General is above ground delivering a speech about the 'weak element' of the colony, when a fist breaks through the dirt. Cutter hits the General.
The General runs towards Cutter to push him down the hole, but Z steps in the way and they both fall. The army ants help up the worker ants to safety.
Z is rescued from the water. The Princess kisses him to revive him. Weaver also kisses the other girl ant who was a friend of Z's. Z is then congratulated with - ""You the Ant!""
We're told by Z that they rebuilt the colony, with an indoor swimming pool. And he now has a few million kids. When the camera leaves the colony we see that they are in the shadow of a major city, which looks like New York.
