So, how does the movie end??
After Max decides to man-up and destroy Vincent's laptop with details of the targets, Vincent forces Max to take his place and ask for a replacement from the mob boss. Detective Fanning (Ruffalo) is getting closer and it looks like he'll save the day.
Max takes Vincent to a trendy club where their next target is a heavily armed Chinese dude sitting in the VIP area with his bodyguards. Its a shake-down as gangsters, FBI and bodyguards start shooting at each other and Vincent takes out the target - as well as saving the cabbie's life. On the way out Fanning is ready to pounce -- but Vincent guns him down.
Max is dejected. Knowing he'll die either way, he speeds the cab through the city streets, finally, before crashing and flipping it upside down. Vincent makes his escape as a cop car pulls up to help a traumatised Max. The cop sees blood from the back of the cab and finds the first dead body. While Max is being cuffed he manages to look at Vincent's laptop to see details of the final target -- Annie who he met earlier. He gets out a gun and frees himself, frightening the poor beat cop and makes a run for it to stop the assassin.
Reaching the building where he dropped off Annie before, he calls the number she gave him and warns her -- when he mentions the name ""Felix"" she believes him without any more qustions -- but then Max spies Vincent a few floors below in her office rummaging through her drawers. She hides in the library - but Vincent sees ths switchboard diversion and leaves the office. Max panics and bumbles his way into the building.
Vincent turns off the power but Max still manages to reach her first and after a few words they have a quick gun-fight. Vincent chases them to a subway beneath the building and guesses correctly to jump onto their train after two turn up at the same time. Must be like buses.
Max and Annie hide out at the back, but Vincent keeps walking towards them. Without any way to get off unless they are seen and shot at, Max prepares for the final battle. He closes his eyes and fires blindly as Vincent, the pro hitman remember, calmly shoots back through the glass door. They both run out of bullets. Max opens his eyes as Vincent turns and slumps into a seat with blood oozing from his chest.
Vince mentions about a story he told of a guy who died on the subway and nobody noticed as he drifts away. Max and Annie get off at the next stop, and walk away together.
